• I am creating my very first Blog using Customizr Theme. At first I had problems but having watched the two videos provided by Themes & Co. a few light bulbs popped. I created a Menu as per instructions but it does not appear in the bar across the top, all I have is a link top right which then drops down with menu items. My need is simple – please I want a menu bar !!! With anticipatory thanks.

  • When the browser size is small, you get a dropdown menu. When the size is large, you get a full menu. This is part of the “responsiveness” of the theme (a full menu wouldn’t fit on a phone, for example). So resize the browser to see the full menu.

Greetings from Manchester in the UK and thanks for your comments and advice. I am creating the site on Windows 8.1 computer, I have watched the videos provided by Customizr, Katrinah and Josh Jackson, each one shows click on ‘create menu’ and automatically the menu items appear in a bar across the top, just below slider. In my case they appear under one link, top right, and I need to move on to create sub menu items so that visitors can hover and choose destination. I appreciate the responsiveness relevancy which makes the theme so impressive. Thanks again and best regards.

Well I’m sat in a friend’s garden in Heald Green at the moment!

Given the win8.1 computer, what’s the size of the monitor? The shrunken 3-bar menu button will appear when the width of the screen is < 980px. That’s a setting given by Twitter Bootstrap 2, and is pretty standard around the web.

So width > 979px will result in the full menu being displayed.

That width may be affected if you have the default zoom setting changed for better readability, as that will reduce the pixel width.

You can try Resizer which has an Animate button that shows how the screen will look at different screensizes.

But the best thing would be to leave us a link to your site so we can see what is going on!

Best Wishes from Manchester UK ??

Thanks to you, problem solved, I fiddled and fumbled and lo and behold the menu bar appeared and remained there ! You have made an old man very happy, if I had realised you were so close, I would have invited you around for a beer, I am a few miles away in Timperley. Beware of low flying aircraft. Much appreciated.

Since my last request I have moved forward and recreated my web site at https://www.informationsniper.com
I have set up Static Pages to add to the Menu but a couple do not appear on the menu bar. The Page named ‘Gardening’ works perfectly with the static page appearing for the click. However, the links for ‘Technology’ and ‘Health’ do not bring up the relevant pages but bring up the same stuff : “Health Chat Technology Chat, Gardening Chat, Manchester United chat’. Obviously I have done something wrong to bring up the same heading for each click,

Once again I ask for your advice and help and send my anticipatory thanks. Regards. John Camm, Manchester UK 2pm Thursday.
