I’m using IE 8 and the menu defaults to vertical view (the mobile view). I saw someone else had this issue and the post says the issue was resolved but no information as to how it was resolved. Wierd thing is that it used to be fine in IE8 but then I downloaded some recording software and the double lined advertisements showed up so I removed some plugins and the menu started showing up vertical….any ideas?

Thank you for the link….I just checked your site using my ie10 (then changed it to the ie8 mode, and the menu appears to be functioning and does not collapse into the dropdown button until I resize the browser down to a mobile size. Then resizing up again, it changes back to normal full width.

I also tried this in Firefox, Chrome, and Windows Safari…even tried it on my iphone; so far it’s functioning as it should.

Just to confirm what you are experiencing, is your menu in mobile mode even in a full browser window on a desktop? Also, what is your resolution you are using?

Yes, even in full browser mode, I’ve tried mulitple resolutions….it was working fine, I downloaded some recordign sofware and then my browser started to show it as vertical and I had some plugins that were showing advertisements with double underline…i removed some plugins and suspect applications and the double lined advertisements were gone but the menu still shows up vertical…it’s something with my IE broswer settings because it’s fine in Firefox…it doesnt seem to be a WordPress issue, it seems to be my browser issue so no worries, I’ll consider it closed unless you can think of something.

    Thanks for your help.

I’m wondering if something was stored in the browser cache within your IE and it could require clearing your cache. Try that and see if it works.

One thing you could do is if this happened right after you removed that plugin, perhaps send the developer the details and see if they might know what it is, if their plugin did something with cookies or something else that is only being affected in IE.

Hopefully you will find out what it is and if it’s related to that plugin.

Also, see if someone you know who uses IE can test your site out and see if the menu shows normal or if it’s immediately in mobile mode.
