Menu Description Not Showing | Description Box Gray

I’m using a premium theme “powerplay” which is an excellent theme, but there is something in the code that is not allowing the menu description to appear and the theme creator doesn’t respond for support.

When I use this code: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/how-to-show-the-description-in-the-menu-and-allow-html-2?replies=1 the menu description appears, but of course the menu isn’t completely functional then.
