Menu, Images, Page Templates, and SEO Plugin not working properly

  • Hello,

    I’ve noticed several things that are not working in WordPress.

    – When I try to add items to a menu, it says “pending” and continues to say this.
    – None of the images are showing up in the image library, but are showing up fine on the website.
    – When I change the page template, it always reverts back to the default page template.
    – My SEO plugin lost all of the titles and metas I had entered in there. ??

    I’m not sure if this happened before or after I updated WordPress to 4.1 and my theme as well.

    I checked my database and found an error for the postmeta which says it can’t find the file. I tried repairing my database, but that issue didn’t resolve. I’ve also deactivated every plugin and reactivated, and still no luck.

    Any ideas?

  • Try deactivating ALL plugins and switch to a default theme. Do you still have these issues?

    I see a whole lot of plugins active and not a default theme?

    Unfortunately, there’s often no easy way to fix issues like this – it’s sometimes a process of elimination so you’ll need to remove all possible causes and start adding them back one by one. If you still have issues with ALL plugins off and a default theme (twentyfifteen) then restall WP Core files.

    Are you using the most recent version of your theme, BTW? Looks like there was an update pretty recently.

    Ya I had activated the default theme and deactivated the plugins several days ago, but was still haivng the issues. Ya maybe reinstalling the WP core files is the key. And yes I just updated the theme a few days ago, but I don’t know when this issue started because I haven’t touched this website for many months. I was just going in to update WP.

    Yeah, I’d deactivate all those plugins and switch to a default theme. Then download a new copy of WP via FTP, replace all files and folders EXCEPT wp-config and the wp-content folder. Best to delete the old ones first so you’re sure they got replaced. Then see if you’re back working correctly. If so, activate stuff one by one.
