menu in header area

Hi,

I have created a custom menu using blocks and want to suppress or hide the menu that automatically appears on the header area. I can’t do it nor can I modify it, or change it in any way. I’ve tried putting some code on additional CSS, as someone on other forum suggested but that did not work either. Please help!
