    Hello!

I’m building a static homepage with page builder. It’s is very nice, but I have a problem: the first row has a slider and a grid of images. Over it, the header has a menu with a submenu. But when I click on the submenu I’m able to see only two lines. The third one is hidden below the slider. How can I solve it?

    best regards

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi Alex!

I took some time to update, but yes, I’m using wordpress 5.7. The problem is in the live site as a whole, for instance, on https://cemap-interludium.org.br/as-grandes-greves-do-abc-paulista/
The funny thing is that it was ok on wordpress 5.6, or at least I didn’t notice it after that time around 8 months ago. It is true that the site is in a very slow moment and it is possible that I didn’t use the page builder since then.
I do have a feeling that some things don’t update when I update wordpress… And now the firefox console is showing overflow and shifting.
    Should I try a reinstall of 5.7?

    best regards!

    Hi arutha,

I have that the longer something (be it a plugin, theme, or even WP) takes to update the more likely the update will fail or be incomplete. Please do a backup, and then navigate to Dashboard > Updates and click Re-install Version 5.7. Once completed, clear your browser cache. Does the prompt still occur?

    Kind regards,
    Alex

    Hi!
I will try as soon as I can and come back to you.
About updates, a comment: my personal policy is to apply updates as soon as they show on dashboard, but after last issues with previous wordpress updates, including lots of reports of broken sites, I became afraid to do it as soon as it is released. Now you tell me it can fail, I will have to revise my options and weigh what is best. oh my….

    cheers!

    Hi Alex!

No success at all. Cleaned revisions, cleaned cache, re-updated wordpress. Everything is the same:
When I want to leave the page it asks for saving even if it’s just saved
Each time I save the page I get two revisions
and we still have refflowing and switching (I believe this is a theme problem) and the error downloadable font: OS/2: Bad sTypoLineGap, setting it to 0: -32 (font-family: “so-slider-pointers” style:normal weight:400 stretch:100 src index:1) source: https://cemap-interludium.org.br/wp-content/plugins/so-widgets-bundle/css/slider/fonts/slider.woff?8p86w5

    I’m so sad….

    Hi Arutha,

Thanks for trying. Can you please provide me with a fullscreen screenshot of what you see when the prompt appears?

The notice regarding the font can be safely disregarded. It’s a warning and won’t result in any issues on your website.

    Kind regards,
    Alex

    Hi!
Ok, let’s see if I did it right. Here is the link:
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UbFLimM4Y0NiwjJHOjYoWfewXBv3KGZL/view?usp=sharing

I’m not sure if this is what you asked for. Anyway, to the right you will see 17 revisions: 14 of them were created when I saved 7 times the page without changing anything whatsoever, not even opening a row.

If you are talking about the reflow, this is the link:

Alex, just a warning: saturday is a complicated day for me, I have some virtual meetings and other things to do. It is possible that I can’t come back to you all day. I’m telling you so you don’t think that I abandoned this quest (lol) Or, if you get a full weekend rest (something all of us deserve!), we can go at it monday. I’m not noticing any bad effects on the frontend from the extra savings, only that it is irksome to work like this.

    best regards!

    Hi Arutha,

Thanks, the first screenshot is what I was after.

Would you mind running a plugin conflict test? This will rule out any third party plugins causing this. You can start by disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue. You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins. So just to confirm, double-check if the issue is coming up while all other plugins are disabled.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue. Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

You could also try temporarily switching to a default WordPress theme like Twenty Sixteen. Default WordPress themes are generally very lightweight which lowers the chance that they’ll conflict with plugins, so they’re a good way to test if your original theme is the source of the issue.

    Kind regards,
    Alex
