    Hi connected57,

I am testing your site right now, and the menu is working properly for me – it is not open, but opens when I tap the button.

    I have tested on:

    Desktop: Chrome

    iPhone: Safari

    iPhone: Chrome

    Android: Chrome

It is working perfectly on all of them.

What device/browser combo are you using?

    Chris

I’m having the same problem on Android, although iPhone works perfectly.

I’ve tested on two different Android phones with the following results:

Android: Dolphin Broswer – prematurely loaded

Android: Default Broswer – prematurely loaded

Android: Opera Mini- seems to be okay

    My site is: https://www.readingindex.co.uk

    Hi mib2347,

What version of Android are you running? Your site is working properly for me in Android 4.4.2 in:

    • Chrome
    • Stock Browser
    • Dolphin

I believe what the issue may be is that older versions of browsers in Android don’t fully support CSS3 Transforms. ShiftNav does feature detection, and implements a fallback when transforms are not supported. However, I discovered that older versions of Android produce false positives, and as a result the fallback doesn’t get triggered.

I’m working on an update that will do some browser sniffing and force the non-transform fallback based on known older Android versions. I pushed this experimental code to the current demo site so you can test whether it is working on your device/browser combo.

If you could let me know your Android version # and also whether the plugin is working on your site in Chrome (as well as Dolphin and Stock) that would be great!

    Thanks! ??

    Chris

I probably should have guessed that it was caused by my old android version. I’m currently running a custom rom (and have been since December 2011) that’s at version 2.3.5, so I guess that explains it. I’m glad it’s just my phone being outdated!

I also have the problem of not being able to update anything at all on my mobile at the moment, as the usb storage is stuck in a weird state. As I can’t update or install any new apps at the moment, this means that I won’t be able to test chrome on an older install until I can get my hands on another old phone tomorrow. I’ll let you know how it appears in chrome android.

The demo site works perfectly for both default and dolphin for me, so that’s good.

I appreciate you replying and clearing that up for me. I’ll test out chrome tomorrow and let you know.

    Cheers ??

Thanks! Just FYI I think Chrome requires at least Android 4.0 to run, so if you don’t have a 4.0 phone don’t worry about that ?? The new code is going to force a fallback on any Android version < 4.

I’ll try to finish up the update and push that out this weekend if possible.

    All the best,

    Chris

Just pushed v1.0.1, which should better detect older browsers to trigger the fallback. Hope it helps! ??

    Chris

Brilliant. I’ve just updated and it works perfectly now.

Thanks for getting it out so quickly, I appreciate it ??
