Menu-items change background color when switching the language

I am translating a site, which I am still developing, using translatepress and a strange issue is occurring;
When I change the language from Englisch into Dutch two menu-items change their background color. I have tried everything but I can’t get this right.
The color should only change (to this color) when a menu-item is selected.
