I’m trying to get a website running for my small magazine publishing company: The Georgia Engineer.

I made a menu with the following items:

    -News
    -Magazine
    -Videos

Every menu item is designated by category; e.g. when I added the “news” category, I went down to the categories section of the menu creation screen, clicked the box for the category “news” that I had already created, and then clicked “add to menu.” So, presumably when I click “news” in my menu it will only display posts categorized under “news.”

Unfortunately, every menu item displays every post from every category.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
