• My website, coronadotest.org, has a menu limitation. When I try to add more links to the website, it will not let me. I’ve tried creating a new menu, and the same problem arises. Many other posts say to add: “php_value max_input_vars 5000” to the .htaccess file.

My website’s server is iPage. In the .htaccess file, you can only add files but not edit the content. I’m not the greatest with computer language and lingo, so if you could go by a step-by-step process, I would greatly appreciate it!

  • If your host won’t let you modify the file, you’ll need to ask them for help with it.

Well, they may let me modify the file, but I don’t know where to locate the file and which files to edit. I need to get this website done by Friday, and the menu is very important. I already read the above link and others like it. I just don’t understand what an .htaccess file is and suhosin. In iPage, there is an “.htaccess Editor”

In this editor, there are 8 categories: hotlink protection, custom error pages, password protection, default pages, block IP addresses, URL redirect, MIME types, and open directory browsing.

Since I’m a little lost, could you please go through the simple, idiot-proof steps?

    Thank you,
    MSchwob

I’m sorry but as this is very host-specific, you really do need to ask your hosts for assistance with this.
