Menu links broken

    I am using my pages as the menu, but the links go into some endless loop and I get this message. It appears this is happening with all links.

    Redirect Loop
    Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.
    The browser has stopped trying to retrieve the requested item. The site is redirecting the request in a way that will never complete.
    * Have you disabled or blocked cookies required by this site?
    * NOTE: If accepting the site’s cookies does not resolve the problem, it is likely a server configuration issue and not your computer.

    I have tried upload the original files back, but still get the same result. Any thoughts on what causes this and what file I need to ‘fix’ to allow it to work. Any help would be much appreciated.

  • what theme are you using? and/or what code do you have to generate your menu for pages? there might be unclosed loop etc.

    Safari says this…
    Safari can’t open the page.
    Too many redirects occurred trying to open… This might occur if you open a page that is redirected to open another page which then is redirected to open the original page

    Unless you changed the template files of the theme yourself (did you?), I kinda doubt it’s a theme issue. What WP version are you using 2.6.5 or 2.7? Did you just install your WordPress? Are you hosting on local server or webhosting service (which)? Have you run Settings > Pemalinks?

    It turns out that it was a Permalinks issue. I had a custom one and it somehow was not working correctly. Thanks for trying to help me out. I am new to wordpress and am trying to do my best.
