Menu not working after 4.5 upgrade

Try deactivating all your plugins and using a core, bundled theme like Twenty Sixteen and see if that resolves the issue.

After upgrading to 4.5 a Go to… menu showed up below the main menu items… it shows every menu item in a drop down… also, our toggle’s all are in the open position when we open the page they occupy. see Day Trading Basics

tried deactivating and reactivating, did not switch to a core bundled theme as it would not work as we desire…

You need to go to the support site where you bought the theme – https://themeforest.net/ – for help with customizations and issues and to get a theme update. You paid for support when you bought the theme, so you should contact the people who sold you the theme.

You’re using a non-WP.org theme; you need to go to the support site where you got the theme for help with customizations and issues and see if there is a theme update

Downgrade to WP 4.4.2

Delete wp-admin and wp-includes, then upload wp-admin and wp-includes from the last version of WordPress. I did that and it had an error that WP was trying to reach this file wp-includes/class-wp-metadata-lazyloader.php, so I uploaded that file only to wp-includes and my site is fine again.

@websitedesignvegas: not a good idea to roll back without a database backup. Replacing wp-admin and wp-includes is not a complete and reliable version rollback.

Mark, I agree. I have automatic DB backups happening everyday.

Then please stop advising people in other threads to do rollbacks the incorrect way.

@websitedesignvegas: Well, I did a backup before upgrading. I have downgraded to WP 4.4.2 now and that did the trick.

@mark: I will check with the support site of where I bought the theme. Someone else must have the same problem.
