Menu spacing

Hello, I notice you can adjust the spacing of the menus using css. When doing so it seems that it sets the same width for each menu item. Is there a way to have varied width for each menu item but with the same amount of padding.

e.g. | Home | Support Services |

Currently as it is the Home menu item has more empty space than the Support services menu item does because it uses fewer characters. How can I make the secondary menu items are varied in width but with the same padding.

e.g.

| Home | Support Services |
