Hi, beautiful plugin, wonderful to see all the work on it and the simplicity with which it works. Thank you.
    I am/was using: WP 3.7.1. & polylang 1.2.1 & custom made theme
I have an odd little problem. I had your plugin working, completely, on my site with the current theme.
I added an archive template for a custom post type (archive-portfolio.php) that was already working without problems. The archive page didn’t work. I deactivated polylang to see if it might have something to do with that. The archive worked. I thought “aha”.
I turned polylang back on thinking I’d just have to change a setting or the permalink structure to get it to work, and the english menu stopped working. (Default is dutch)
The menu still exists, I try to choose the right location for it (Main menu in English), I click save. But it doesn’t commit the change.
I made a new menu, doesn’t work either. There is another location available but all menu’s will only take the dutch/default locations and none of the English one.
I’ve tried activating and deactivating the plugin again. Nothing changes.
A new update came out of polylang, I updated, nothing changed. I can’t assign a menu to any of the english versions of ‘location’.
I don’t know if I explained myself clearly but I hope so. Anyone who has a suggestion of where I might look: I’m open to them!
    Thank you.

Yes v1.2.3 should fix that. However you should check that everything is OK on your website. Especially look at strings translations if you are using them. Both conflicts I am aware of were breaking strings translations too.

    All translations work perfectly.
The only thing that I am not sure if it is working as expected is the language switch button in the menu. It always redirects to the front page, instead of redirecting to the other language version of the particular page i am on.
Is that how it’s suppose to be?
Forces link to front page option has been disabled.

    Have you a link?

I think I know what I missed. NVM.

    EDIT:
Yes, the program doesn’t save the page ID for the other languages, in the language section of each page.

Did you make a backup before you upgraded from 1.1.6 (or older) to 1.2.x?

I don’t think so. I upgrade all plugins and everything as soon as they come out.

OK. Nothing’s lost. Data from v1.1.6 are still in your database. Make a backup now.

Then follow carefully the instructions you will find at https://pastebin.com/0TdQzQLv. This will clean your database from 1.2.x data allowing you to revert cleanly to 1.1.6.

Once you’ve reverted to 1.1.6, you can try to update back to 1.2.3 (as the upgrade should now be more robust).

    Ok, here’s the deal:

    – I reverted to 1.1.6 and everything seems to be working fine on that version
    – Updated to version 1.2.3 and it no longer saves the page ids for other languages

… will I be stuck with 1.1.6 forever?

Did you revert using the plugin “Revert Polylang 1.2 to 1.1.6”?

Did your menus upgrade correctly or did they get lost as the first time?

Yes, I reverted using the plugin.
Upgrading from 1.1.6 to 1.2.3 doesn’t break the menus anymore, like it did the first time. Only the language page ID (maybe there are other bugs, but I can’t see any others right now).

Are your already existing pages (those you created before you upgraded correctly linked) or or did you loose languages and translations during the upgrade?

No, they are no longer correctly linked.
I mean, if I revert to 1.1.6 they are correctly linked again.
If I upgrade to 1.2.3 , they are no longer correctly linked and I can’t add new page ids to the language section.

Could you tell me what are your theme and your active plugins?
