• When using the new Menus option in WP3 the current-menu-item does not appear on the home page

    • .
    • Example: https://dev.detailssalon-spa.com/
I’ve included a link to the home page in my custom menu.
      I want each menu

    • to display with a background for which ever page you are on.
Since the home page is in the menu I want a background to display on that
    • when the user first visits the site.

Right now it appears on all other pages but will not for the home page.

  • Hello bzmillerboy!!

Visiting your site I can see that you have solved your problem. Could you please tell us how did you do it?
I have the same problem that you had and I’d like current-menu-item class back.

    Thankyou!!

@drgoettel I actually did not find a fix but I did find that this is a new bug introduced in WP 3.0, https://core.trac.www.ads-software.com/ticket/13994. Looks like they plan to fix it in v3.1.

I had to use the sort order solution instead of the Menus options. So basically I added a sort order value each page I wanted displayed.

Let me know if that helps?

Thank you for your answer. It’s very annoyant. I had to use the menu widget just to see the current-menu-item class back.
    ??

I found on my site that by including the trailing / it worked. However on another site it isn’t working, but that’s maybe because there’s a bunch of stuff following the url. If you’re simply pointing it to your home page include the trailing slash and that might work.

Try it, it works on my site.
