Menus not saving

  • I have issues saving my menus. Posts, pictures save easily, but when I change a menu and try to save it usually times out, sometimes saving and sometimes not. It is not a plug in because it did it with all plug ins deactivated. The hosting company says it is not them, the theme people say it is not them. Could it be a faulty wp installation? Any clues one were to start would be appreciated. Saving widget changes and deleting whole pages of spam also takes too long but at least it works. THANKS

    the theme people say it is not them.

    one way find out is switch to the WP default theme for moment. Then make changes to its menu and see if it saves or not.

    This has happened with me at times. In my case, it usually helped to simply log out, log back in, and try again.

    I did switch off both the theme and the plugins, separately and together.
