menu/slider overlap

hello. i finally figured out how to get the slider working on my site. i want the slider at the top of the page, right below the menu. however when i hover over the menu to drop down the sub-menu, it overlaps with the slider and when i try to click on the bottom sub-menu items that menu item collapses and i’m unable to navigate that part of my site.

is there a way to have the slider in the ‘background’ or to have the menu always be on top of the content, no matter what?
