    With my current setup, I have two separate WordPress blogs successfully installed on my website. They use different databases and everything.
    example.com/blog1
    example.com/blog2
    However now I would like to merge, or integrate blog2 into blog1.

    Luckily blog2 is new with few posts, so if all else fails I know I can just add the users manually and copy the posts by hand. Of course that would change the publish dates, and I have no idea how to manually move the comments.

    My question is simply: Is there a way to at least semi-automatically merge blog2 into blog1? Including users, original publish dates, and comments?

    My guess is theres a way to back-up the database of blog2 and use a magical MySQL command to do it all in one go.

    Thanks in Advance

  • Yes, there is an easy way to merge blog2 into blog1 including users, original publish dates and comments.
    1) Manage > Export All Users from blog2 and save XML to computer
    2) In blog1, create the users from blog2 so it would be easier to assign to users when you import
    3) In blog1, Manage > Import XML file from blog2 in computer. You will be asked to which user the posts from blog1 user will be assigned. Choose from dropdown.
    If you can’t get it in one import click, don’t worry, just click on import same XML file again.

    Can you explain where this feature is in WordPress 2.6? I have a Manage Export feature but it only creates an export file of the entire blog. It says nothing about exporting users. I need to port my users to a new installation.

    will this maintain the correct links to all posts or reformat them?

    I have been trying to export 1000’s of users to a new version of my blog. I have already moved the posts, but now I need to import the members of the blog.

    blogs.afponline.org ==> blog.afputility.org

    Is there an easy way to export users from one blog to another?
