+ and it have one translation file with the plugin itself. author: plugins/…
+ I did translate a lot of sentences that I stored in the location ../loco/…

Can I merge the translation templates at one file, that I put in the location ../loco/… ? it is safe to do? do you have any helper for this? or advice for me? I’m a developer, I can execute developer ways to do it…

Loco Translate automatically merges custom strings on top of installed strings at runtime, so it’s not necessary to merge the actual files.

However, if you must merge the actual files for some reason (maybe you like to see the 100% bar) then you can do this by using the system PO file as the synced template instead of the usual POT. Normally this is done by using the Copy function with the sync translations option selected. See here how to Copy an existing PO file and set those options.

There is no user interface for setting sync options after a file has been created (working on it) but you can manually edit your PO file to do that. Go through the above steps for a new file and look at the PO file headers X-Loco-Template and X-Loco-Template-Mode. Then reproduce these as you see fit in the PO file you want to merge. Then run Sync on it.
