Merge Jetpack Stats

Hi there!

With Jetpack, your stats information is connected to a unique blog ID. Sometimes, when migrating sites or testing changes via a staging site, that unique ID may get attached to a different site, while a new unique ID is created for your production site to avoid conflicts.

It seems that’s what happened with your site. I’ve fixed the issue on our end, and you should now be able to get your Stats and all other historical data back by going to the Jetpack menu in your dashboard, and disconnecting / reconnecting to WordPress.com. You can disconnect from WordPress.com thanks to the link at the bottom of the page.

Thank you. The stats are indeed merged.

Well, I had two JP sites for Flamboyant, etc. I managed to delete the one with the merged stats.

What is odd, is that JP says I’m not connected to the account. When I try to create one, it then says I’m already connected. Go figure.

I should add that I deleted and reconnected but it was to the account with the smallest data. That’s when I deleted the account with the merged data.

I have made some changes on our end which should help with the Jetpack connection ( including getting stats back ) for your website.

Would you please delete Jetpack and then reinstall it as a first step here? You can follow these steps to do that:

1. Start at Plugins → Installed Plugins.
2. If Jetpack is currently active, click Deactivate to disable it. Then click Delete to remove it from your site:
3. Go to Plugins? → Add New.
4. Search for “Jetpack – WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth”.
5. Click Install and then Activate.

When Jetpack is installed, click the Set up Jetpack button to reconnect.

You shouldn’t lose any settings or any of your stats or subscribers in doing so, as that info is stored in our system here.

I reinstalled JP and reconnected. The stats are merged. However, I still get the error message that JP is unable to connect.

I ran the debug tool and got an unknown error message. I will check the xmlrpc.php entry.
