    Hi there,

    I setup this plugin a few weeks back on my website, and I noticed in MailChimp yesterday that the merge tags (FNAME, LNAME) I had setup were suddenly missing. I was in the process of creating a new e-mail and seen a notice by the “to” field about personalizing the e-mail. On top of that, the data for these fields (which was manually added) is no longer showing in my MailChimp account.

    For context, I am using this plugin on two websites and both of which are connected to the same Mailchimp account.

    I can’t say for certain, but I’m wondering if this plugin overwrote / removed those merge tags / data when I did the initial sync. It’s been a few weeks since I setup the plugin, so I only noticed now when attempting to send a new e-mail.

    Can someone advise if this is the case? Or if there’s an easy way to get the data (first and last names) from WooCommerce into MailChimp?

    Hello there,

    Thanks for the context, when it’s mentioned that the two websites are connected to the same Mailchimp account, are they connected to the same Audience/List?

    If so, it’s recommended that each store be connected to its own list.

    This could certainly cause sync conflicts because the data is being updated from two different sources and will get overwritten.

    Before making any changes please be sure to backup your data in Mailchimp

    This is important because disconnecting your store removes the ecommerce data.

    The best way to get the First and Last Name data from Woocmmerce into Mailchimp is approach having one to one relationship between Mailchimp For WooCommerce plugin per Audience. You’ll need to create a new list for one of the accounts and when it is connected to one of the stores the data such as First Name and Last Name of customers will be passed to Mailchimp.

    Hi there,

    Yes, they are connected to the same audience, but the intent is to have a unique tag and/or segment set for users that come from each site.

    Is it not possible to set it up like this with one audience?

    After writing this, I readded the merge tags to my mailchimp account and re-synced the website with the larger database, and it updated the mailchimp audience and inputted the majority of the fields.

    Can you confirm if the syncing of the second site is indeed what caused the data to go missing (and to remove the merge tags)?

    @alex-h-1 Hey there,

    While that may have worked, and is technically feasible to set it up to work with a single list database, we still generally recommend keeping a one to one relationship to avoid any issues. We’ve seen syncing issues similar to this in the past where multiple store per list caused conflict across the board.
