Merging two WP Sites

    Export (tools->export) the old blog site and import it (tools->import) into the new one.

    Thank you.

    It did not go as smoothly as hoped. All of the “Media” objects were not imported. No reason was given for any of the failures.

    Any suggestions?

    You need to export everything to get the question about importing media on the other side.

    I did? I selected “All” for the export.

    The only question was how to map the users/authors.

    Here is a sample of the failures:

    Failed to import Media “nicole”
    Failed to import Media “file-1007254762”
    Failed to import Media “Enjoying the sun”
    Failed to import Media “iStock_000003550579Small-resized-600”

    You may have to upload the media manually. The import/export is a bit flaky.
