Merging WP installs—best method?

Aren’t you saying need to move blog from domain.com to domain.com/blog?

If so review Moving WordPress and Changing_The_Site_URL.

Also note that domain.com/blog is not really a subdomain but a subdirectory. A subdomain would be like blog.domain.com

I’m sorry, I do mean subdirectory. And yes, I need to get domain.com to domain.com/blog, but is the simplest way to do this to move the entire install? Should I just transpose everything from the current domain.com to the new domain.com/blog?

And if I do that move, how would I successfully get the links dynamically generated from one install to another?

After doing the move install the Search and Replace plugin and replace old URL with new URL.

All right, I seem to have hit another brick wall. So I’ve got the previous blog successfully moved to domain.com/blog and the new site at domain.com.

I think I might have been unclear about something, though.

For the time being, I’m looking to allow people to continue posting and blogging at domain.com/blog and syndicating that to domain.com.

Since there are two separate WP installs, it doesn’t seem like I could successfully run query_posts from one install to another. I don’t know how to generate these results. Will I simply have to parse them out using PHP and XML?

On second thought, it doesn’t look like I can get the WP data as XML to parse it. Any more suggestions?
