• For a while I’ve wondered why some people’s usernames are links to their URLs, while other people’s are unlinked. Almost everyone has a URL (we’re all WordPress users after all) but for many people, it’s necessary to click “Member”, then visit the URL from their profile page.

People don’t always give the URL of their WP blog when they are referring to a problem. It would be much more useful if everyone’s username was clickable so other people could visit other people’s sites easily.

Can someone explain what the criteria for being linked directly are?

  • It’s either it gets linked after so many posts or it was grandfathered in awhile back.

It not being there helps cut down on spammer issues.

DRMike is probably right but does anyone know the facts “why some people’s usernames are links to their URLs, while other people’s are unlinked” in this forum?
