Messages get thown away with bad network connection
-
Hello, recently my users made me aware of a small imperfection with better messages.
When the network is gone for a few seconds and a user sends a message, the message just gets thrown away without any notification for the user.
In the optimal case, I think, the user should not be able to send the message at all without a connection and/or the page should retry it every few seconds.
In the best case, the message could get saved in a local cookie and be restored when the user revisits the page. But I think it would be already a big improvement if the user simply cannot send the message without a connection and gets notified about that.
I can reproduce it in the demo chat
Google Chrome -> F12 -> Network -> Offline -> Send a messageThis of course also happens many times with mobile internet because there you also encounter many situations where the network is gone for a few seconds.
Greetings from Germany!
