• Hello,

I use elementor to create awesome page but since last few updates the look of the pages keeps getting messed up.

The only thing left on the pages is plain text, no animation, no color and no styling.

I also used pre built template but that also became so weird.

Sometimes it becomes normal and sometimes it becomes messed up. I have been facing this problem since few weeks.

    Any help?

P.S: I don’t want to rollback the version.

Did you upgrade to the last version 1.5.2 ?

Yes, I am using the latest version.

Along with the look, basic features like aligning the text/images in center, increasing their size, these also stopped working.

If you have a cache plugin like WP-Rocket, check that you’re clearing the cache.

If you have a optimization plugin such as Autoptimize you will try to do the minification again.

Pro-tip; you can disable Autoptimize at a per-request basis by adding ?ao_noptimize=1 to the URL. If the page (consistently) renders fine without AO, you’ll have to troubleshoot your AO-settings as per the FAQ.

    hope this helps,

i have this same problem, every-time i make anew page with Elementor, next day or sometimes within the hour, the page loses all its formating, and the text and images are all in a single column.

it has been doing it with the last 2 updates, version 1.5.1 and 1.5.2

i see you mention cache plug-ins as a possible cause. i have Autoptimize and W3 Total Cache installed, i will deactivate them an try one more time with Elementor.

even after deactivating Autoptimize and W3 Total Cache, Elementor still has the same bug, i think the last couple of updates are the fault. well thats a mths work wasted i am going to switch to one of the more established drag & drop page builder as, should have done this in the beginning but got sucked in by the massive youtube hype about elementor.

@jason987008 Not quite sure why you felt the need to post the same rant about “youtube hype” twice, it’s very negative feedback for something that’s given away for free and just makes you sound like a troll from a competing page builder, but if you’re actually a legitimate user of this plugin I’d suggest reading up on cache-busting so you can properly point blame where it is due, just sounds like you are using too many technologies you don’t fully understand and they are conflicting.

Even as a developer cache busting is still one of the biggest pain points I run into because caching is done **everywhere** and often you may not even know it.

    :DNS – cloudflare/Amazon…
    :Host – pagespeed/redis/nginx/varnish…
    :Wordpress – built-in/plugins…
:Web browsers – local cache on your device
    :Other …?

and you must realize this if you’re going to build any modern website and not get totally frustrated when the underlying code changes and refreshing your browser shows you a mix of old and new content.

Knowing a little more about your environment would allow us to help you better.

I have been trying to solve this problem for a few days but couldn’t succeed. I am using Varnish cache and I keep on clearing it and I am not using autoptimize.

There is one thing that I do to solve the error and it works pretty well, but for a short time.

    This is what I do:

    1.) Open the elementor editor.
2.) Make some new changes like giving animation, adding dividers or anything like that.
3.) Clear the cache and then reload the page.
4.) Most of the time this problem gets solved, but not every time.
After doing this, within a few minutes the look becomes messy again.

I really like elementor because it is giving some useful features in the free version also but as long as this problem continues I cannot even think to upgrade to premium.

@karanbhagar still not sure blame is due at this plugin though. It doesn’t do any caching and if you’re seeing old cached content that is definitely not Elementor serving it up and you’ll likely have issues changing your content using any tool out there.

You mentioned Varnish which is only one among many mechanisms of caching. Most shared hosts use cpanel and enable PageSpeed by default, that uses caching too and is often overlooked.

If you use CloudFlare or similar CDN/DNS service, that caches content as well and must be flushed when there is new content. Tools they provide like RocketLoader also often break site content and require a lot of finesse in getting set up properly.

And then there’s the browser in which many times I have been perplexed on which it still delivered locally cached content even when using shortcuts like (refresh and clear cache) Ctrl + F5 or dev tools forced setting to clear cache and it doesn’t always obey orders. I’ve even experienced opening pages in incognito mode that still load cached content when my understanding is that it shouldn’t, usually related to query strings. i.e. some/javascript/file.js?ver=some_version

When in doubt, test from a machine/browser that has never loaded the site and see if you get the same result. That eliminates the browser at least. Then check the files at your host or ftp and compare with what is served in the browser. If the files show the most recent content, i.e. css typically, then you KNOW for a fact caching is happening in between and you must find the culprit.

Sorry to say but this is one of the biggest pains in web development and sometimes it takes a lot of effort to bust your cache unfortunately. The good news is with a little information and sharing on your part, we can help you figure it out.

    Hi everyone,

Jumping on this thread as I’m experiencing funky page designs with elementor.

My website is https://www.new.neighborhoodsun.solar/community/ and until this afternoon, just before I started tweak pages for handheld devices, things were looking great.

As I edited header and footer templates, I plugged those in and deleted the old ones in the pages, so I always had the same section/template on all pages, optimized for different screen sizes.

After editing header and footer, I started changing each page and making it phone-friendly. A couple of hours later I realized that the pages started being messy. Most of the content is smashed into this column in the middle of the page, that’s it. The header is never messy, but the footer is always.

I’m using wordpress 4.8.2, a child theme of generate press 1.4, GP premium 1.4.3, and elementor 1.6.5. I deactivated a few plugins in the meantime just to make things less complicated, but the look of pages didn’t change. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Armando
