• I’m loving this plugin which I think is an upgrade from the old plugin I was using, however when I use the code on a landing page, that landing page’s formatting is a mess.

    The background image strips out, the menus and menu formatting doesn’t’ display right, it’s not playing nice with a side-menu at all (it appears above the side menu instead of beside it) and even when I switch it to full-page, the menus are still off with regard to font and various other things.

    I’m using Responsive Theme which is a pretty basic theme, so I’m surprised at how many negative interactions it seems to be creating.

    Hi,
    I am so sorry about your issue. I have tried to test in a lot of themes but I might have not taken every theme structure in account. Any chance you would have a link to your site where I can view this issue?
    Cheers,
    Stephanie

    Yep no problem, it’s working OK so I was able to leave it up, but some things are definitely “off” between the page with the plugin and that of the rest of the site.

    Alrighty, there is a new update for the plugin – version 1.02 that should resolve your issues.

    As for the sidebar, ensure that you have used a page template with a sidebar.

    The petfinder plugin does look like it sits to the left of the sidebar when I copied over the sidebar’s code and it seems to work.

    See image:

    Let me know how it works out.

    Cheers,

    I installed the update and the majority of the formatting issues are now resolved, however the sidebar issue is still causing problems.

    I have it set to a full-width page at the moment because of the side-bar issues, unfortunately I cannot set it to the sidebar page so you can see it since people need to navigate our website frequently and it is just in poor business practice to leave such an obvious formatting error.

    Here is a screenshot of the general problem, zoomed out so you can see it: https://s29.postimg.org/8ef00g92v/9_15_2014_8_05_07_AM.jpg

    Hello Stephanie,

    I am having the same problem. I have gone through the requirements and I am having the same problem.

    I am using a theme with a page that has sidebars.

    I used firebug to try and find the CSS that is doing this but as of yet no luck.

    Please see my page here:

    Your plugin has been great!

    If you need an account and need to get into my site just let me know and I can make you one.

    Kind Regards,
    Joe Dostie

    Hi all…

    I ended up finding the issue and fixing it…

    It appears to me that there is an “extra” closing </div> tag on line 1354 in the petfinder-search-rescue.php file.

    Mind you, this is probably NOT be improper code but MY theme had an issue with it.

    I am using Avada 3.7.1

    Changing

    </div><div class="poweredByPetfinder">Powered by Petfinder.com</div></div><!--end petfinder search & rescue container-->'</div>;

    To this:

    </div><div class="poweredByPetfinder">Powered by Petfinder.com</div></div><!--end petfinder search & rescue container-->';

    This fixed my issue and the side bar now appears correctly.

    Hope this helps someone else!

    Hey Joe,

    I’m having some issues getting this to work and was wondering if you’d be willing to take a look at it and see what I’m doing wrong.
