Meta boxes on attachment — data not saves

A metabox on an attachment doesn’t save the data — I made a metabox to save author and date information for media files, but it doesn’t save. When the same meta box is applied to a post or a page, it saves fine. A previous thread about this same thing mentioned that this was fixed in the latest version of the plugin — and that’s the version I’m using, however the issue still exists for me.
Any advice would be awesome.
