• Hello,
I have a strange behavior with images when I disable the retina support for images.
Then for new added images the meta_key _wp_attachment_metadata is not saved in wp_postmeta table.
These images aren’t editable and have no preview.

Any idea how to fix this?

    Regards
    Jens

  • Ah, that’s interesting. It looks like you’re getting us more info on the non-retina featured images problem, which seems to only happen to some people (me included). The images get displayed 1px x 1px as a consequence (and should be editable, if you can manage to right click the pixel — not a solution!).

Is the problem completely solved by using retina support? (It was for me.) Is there any reason why you want retina support switched off?

Yes, with retina support enabled it works fine. The reason for switching it to off was a lot of 404 errors while loading @2x images in the background.
I don’t know why, but now these errors don’t appear any more….
