Hi! Google SERP is showing a meta description pulled from the page body content instead of what’s identified in the SEO meta description on the page. I checked the page settings and viewed the source and they both show what I have entered into the SEO framework.

Not a timing issue with updates. It’s been awhile since updated and when I view the source code it looks right.

What am I missing that my SERP isn’t looking as it set up?

Thanks in advance for any light you can shed.

    Cheers!
    Barb

  • Hi Barb, for the most pages of your website the description seems correct — at least in my Google. However, sometimes Google decides to display a snippet from body or other info it finds more relevant. It mostly depends on the keywords entered into search, you can read more on Google’s official website for webmasters.

Google will sometimes use the meta description of a page in search results snippets, if we think it gives users a more accurate description than would be possible purely from the on-page content.

This is not really a plugin specific issue, rather than Google being Google. You can find more about what Google considers a good description at page I linked, it is relatively short read. Hope it helps, if not ask away!
