Meta Description Clash
-
You can clearly see on this website that when Yoast is enabled it provides 2 meta descriptions. One is the original one (which is puts further down the page) and the second is the Yoast one which takes top priority.
Facebook doesn’t know which one to use, so it uses the old one and not the one I have entered in the Yoast Social settings for FB. I contacted FB and their technical team said there should only be 1 meta description as it’s crawlers don’t know what to do with 2. So it picks the oldest one – which is one I don’t want to show.
So, essentially, unless I have done something wrong, it seems a bit of a blunt instrument (e.g. why cannot it not deactivate the old line and then reinstalled it if the plug in gets deactivated or something similar).
Is there a way around this?
