Meta Description doesn't show on some pages

  • On some pages and all posts I get the following message:
    <!-- Admin only notice: this page doesn't show a meta description because it doesn't have one, either write it for this page specifically or go into the SEO -> Titles menu and set up a template. -->

    However, I have filled in the Meta Description field on the page/post edit screen.

    I also tried setting the template (SEO > Titles & Metas > Post Types) for Posts and Pages to %%excerpt%% (I manually entered an excerpt on the pages).

    Any idea what the problem could be?
