Meta description lengt not ok for google

    It seems google changed the number of words available for the description, in the backend we entered the following meta description:
    xooxsxxxppxn zwxxr? xooxsxxxppxn op xx mxrst? Lxnxxr zxlxstxnxix xooxsxxxppxn xoxn mxt xxn spxxixlx xixtskxr xls xooxsxxxppxntrollxy. xixr xllx xnfxrmatix.
    > this text is ok and green according to the plug-in.

    But google is showing the following description:
    xooxsxxxppxn zwxxr? xooxsxxxppxn op xx mxrst? Lxnxxr zxlxstxnxix xooxsxxxppxn xoxn mxt xxn spxxixlx xixtskxr xls xooxsxxxppxntrollxy. xixr xllx …

    Is there a way to manually change the number characters in the code or can this be changed in the next update?

    Comparing the two gibberish descriptions, I would think the second one includes the date in the search results which takes up a handful of characters. If that’s the case, you can show dates in the Yoast SEO snippet preview.

    Go to Admin > SEO > Titles & Metas > Post Types and toggle the show/hide switch to show under ‘Date in Snippet Preview’. This option is available per post type (post, page, media, etc).

    If the date is not the cause, please provide screenshots of the meta description in the plugin and in Google. Or provide us with a link to the site in question.
