Meta Descriptions Issue

    Good Afternoon,

    Just a quick question, we have recently updated to the latest version of your plugin from 3.7.1, and we previously had on the older version the following setting enabled under advance settings: Autogenerate descriptions.

    When we updated to the latest version, an edit an article, the meta description box on the edit post screen is showing: 0 out of 160 max recommended characters.

    Post excerpt is the only box which is inside this description.

    Am I right in thinking that post excerpt will automatically pick up the article description for the meta description, as when we view source on the actual page we get:
    <meta name=”description” content=”content is showing here”>

    Just wondering if this is a glitch in the back end of the plugin, as on version 3.7.1 and earlier the autogenerated description would show on the edit post page, but on the edit post page on the latest version we get 0 out of 160 max recommended characters.

    Hey @andrew1977,

    That’s correct; it’s a glitch.

    What’s supposed to happen is that the Post Excerpt is automatically reflected in the preview snippet (as well as the character length), but for this tag we have a little bug where it doesn’t show in the preview snippet. It’s only a visual bug; everything is still working as it should behind the scenes. We hope to address it in the next release.
