Hello and gongrats for your plugin.

I noticed that the meta description that is shows to the serps are actually the content of the each page.

    For example…

In a product categorie is the intro text. But it is not the meta description that i write inside the product categorie admin page.

How can i resolve this in order to see in the serps the meta description that i provide?

    Thanks in advance

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello!

Your theme outputs an extraneous <meta name="description"> tag in the header, which should be removed. You may want to reach out to Elegant Themes to get that sorted.

Likely, you should set everything to “Disabled” at “Divi > Theme Options > SEO.”
Let me know if you’ve done so; then, I can inspect if your changes had a positive effect.

Still, it may take a few weeks for Google to see you’ve made changes.

Please note that your descriptions are suggestions and may not always be used on the search engine result pages; see: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/snippet#meta-descriptions.

    I quote:

Google will sometimes use the <meta name="description"> tag from a page to generate a snippet in search results, if we think it gives users a more accurate description than would be possible purely from the on-page content.

    I hope this helps. Cheers!

Yes, that worked! Now only TSF’s description is outputted, so search engines will more likely consider it.

Please keep in mind that the description tag is a suggestion, and search engines may still use snippets of your content to create a description.

    Cheers!
