• We’re seeing a couple of WP sites with the following problem: *.html files are being created in the cache directory, but the only page for which a .meta file gets created is the RSS feed.

Over time we see that the cache directory fills up as it should with *.html files, but the cache/meta directory just sits there with its single .meta file from /feed URL, so wp-super-cache or wp-cache only return the dynamic page and not the cached page.

We see the same issue with both wp-cache and wp-super-cache. I.e., swapping one for the other on an affected site does not solve the problem.

On the same server, most sites are happily generating .meta files, only a few sites are showing this issue. Which would lead me to believe that it’s not necessarily a server issue…

Has anyone ever seen this problem of .meta files not getting created? More importantly, does anyone have any idea how to resolve it?

Thanks in advance for any light that you can shine on this!

Thinking we may be seeing a plugin conflict issue… Most of the problem accounts had earlier versions of the Share-this plugin; when this plugin was removed or updated, wp-cache began function normally and generated the .meta files properly.
