Hi I have been using this plugin for a while now and I really love the intuitive way to set it up. The one thing that bothers me is that there isn’t an option to add meta keywords to the pages/posts. I know keywords aren’t as important as they used to be but clients keep asking for them.

Is there a way to add meta keywords?? I’d really appreciate some help in this topic.

    Thank you ??

Hey @ikosweb, do them a favor and explain them that keywords do not carry any weight in terms of SEO. It is not a speculation, it is official statement from Google. Unless… there is other reason to use keywords. Maybe ask them why they want to use them? Is there some other search engine that accounts for meta keywords? I’m genuinely curious.

Hello again @ikosweb, I hope you are doing well. It has been a week, so you probably figured this out. If you need further help or you want to discuss the meta keywords thing, just reply here. If it is separate issue, just open a new topic. Have a nice day! ??

Hi, Im sorry I took so long to reply. I didnt get the notifications.
I understand and I have explained that keywords are in no way important in terms of SEO anymore. They still demand some keywords to be ranked in google and make use of them in adwords.
As much as I have explained that the keywords MUST BE in the CONTENT itself instead on the metatags, they are bugging me lol.

Any guidance to change their mind or a way to add them? Thank you

I’m also using Adwords. As far as I know, META KEYWORDS and GOOGLE ADWORDS are two separate things. To my knowledge, TSF doesn’t have the ability to add meta keywords, and it is not planned as a feature. There is simply no reason to add this functionality. It is literally useless.

Unless your client is not able to come up with actual reason, why they need keywords, implementing this functionality would be 100% waste of developer resources. I hope you understand. Maybe some other, probably older SEO plugins still have option to add meta keywords.

However, I’m not a representative of TSF. As such, I’m only speculating. I’ve already asked @cybr (plugin author) to let you know, he will reply here within 48 hours. Sorry I can’t help you ??

Yeah I agree… I mean I ask because ‘no use in seo’ is not the same as ‘it will harm the seo’.
I will try to explain to them that the keywords should be planned to be into the content of the page instead.

If there would be any tangible benefit, we would consider it. I even looked myself for an answer and haven’t found one. Yes, they can’t hurt, but they also can’t help. I mean, it is literally definition of useless. But still—if your clients can surface some credible reason why to use keywords, we will gladly discuss it further. ??
