Meta name is important line

    I am not able to understand the point . Can you please explain the point in detail.

    I think he meant that it was a lot of unnecessary work to tie developers to only using the ID – why not allow using either the ID OR the slug like we’re used to? He’s calling it “meta_name” or the visible name of the field; but that’s not exactly how it’s done is it – WP plugins use the “slug” and not the field “public name”.
