    We seamlessly integrated Meta Pixel with our online store through the official Meta plugin, ensuring a smooth process.

    Upon initiating our inaugural conversion campaign, we encountered an unforeseen issue the following day while editing certain fields in the checkout section. Upon reviewing the ad metrics, it became apparent that events were erroneously attributed to the campaign, even when the traffic did not originate from the ads. This resulted in an unintended increase in CPM, posing a significant risk of reporting inaccuracies.

    It is crucial to note that Meta Pixel records any events transpiring on the website, irrespective of whether the traffic is from ads or other sources, potentially leading to misattributions within the campaign.

This is a feature rather than a flaw, as it allows you to gain a comprehensive understanding of all user behavior on your site. However, we understand that this might lead to confusion when analyzing the results of specific ad campaigns.

    To alleviate this issue, you can make use of the Custom Conversion feature in Facebook Ads Manager. This feature allows you to define specific URL rules for conversion tracking, helping to ensure that only the desired events are attributed to your campaign.

    I also recommend checking your event setup in the Facebook Events Manager to ensure that events are correctly attributed. If you’re using the Conversions API, also ensure that your server events are set up correctly.

    Additionally, it may be helpful to uninstall and reinstall the plugin to ensure you have the most up-to-date version.

This could help you pinpoint where your traffic is coming from and accurately attribute sales to their correct sources.

    Furthermore, I’d also recommend exploring other plugins that could potentially offer more precise and advanced tracking options just the way you need them.
