    Hi,
I am running a multisite worpress installation. One site is in English the other one in German. On both sites I am using the Mantra theme and I found out how to insert the shortcode into the header.php so that the slider is shown on the english site. The challenge for me now is to find a way to display the same or even a different slider on top of the german site. Is there a way to achieve that? I think one solution could be to make a new slider with the same ID on the german site, but I don’t know if this is possible.

    english site
    german site

  • I guess I got pretty much the same matter: I have designed a Multisite-Installation for our local non-profit-sports-club. The goal was to have a main design that is the same on every subsite for every sports-branch(altogether 17, like “Sports for the Disabled”…). Another task was, to collect the “Recent Informations” of every branch on the main site. I solved it by the Plugin “WordPress MU Sitewide Tags Pages” wich works pretty fine: if any subsite creates a new post(not pages), they are simultaneously collected on the main site post’s feed.
I also use Meta Slider in the free version, since it looks really good for a free slider plugin: the created sliders look really nice, and are easily produced(its only a bit irritating, that there is no “progress indicator” while creating new slideshow – if you’re not used to it, you could think, your browser crashed: e.g. in chrome there’s a popup after half a minute, that proposes to close down the tab since it does not work anymore. Depending on how many images you include to the slider, you have to click this popup several times away till the job is done).
My main problem is that the slider works fine on the subsite, but in the collected posts on the main site, there is simply shown nothing but the written text of the post(the slider is missing – single pictures also work fine): if I push “edit” to the collected post, I can see, that there is the link to the slider(e.g.: [metaslider id=1083]). But since the media are not in the database of the main site, but only in the database of the subsite, wordpress seems not to be able to interpret this slider ID. So it shows nothing. Is there any way, to open up the data between subsite and main site? Otherwise I am in need to create the same slider on the main site again which is simply not the goal(since I work on all this unsalaried, as a simple member of the non-profit-sports-club): the branches should be able to present themselves and their recent actions themselves in the very best way on the main site. So the slider should be shown then on the main site automatically. Does this work in the “pro” version?

    kind regards,

    Peter
