    Hi there,

Previously all of my websites have had a dedicated home page, but a site I am working on is instead simply using the ‘Latest Posts’ option instead – this is a video hosting site, and so the text is minimal, but I just want a nice looking title and meta desc.

How do I go about creating a meta title and description for this when I have no page to edit, and in turn Yoast settings to configure? It seems Google is just pulling off a few titles of the videos I have on there and no more.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Mark

If you’re using the latest post as the homepage, you can still edit that post by going to your posts admin screen in WordPress. When you edit it, you can set the title and meta description on the Yoast SEO meta box underneath the content box.

    Hi Rumejan,

Sorry, to clarify, in WordPress, Settings – > Reading, I have ‘Your homepage displays’ set to ‘Your latests posts’, as opposed to setting a static home page.

Because of this, I have no set post or page where by I can amend the meta title or description.

I hope this is clearer now – can you advise?

    Thanks
    Mark

If you want to display your latest posts as the homepage, but want to be able to edit it like a static page it would require you creating a new static page, and then having it so it displays the latest posts within that. You can find instructions for doing that here for example:
