Hello, the meta title that corresponds to my homepage on google is different from the one I created with the plug in yoast. Indeed my first name and my last name are in first position followed by the two points in the meta title on google while they should be at the end. I wanted to know if this had an impact on SEO in relation to my request which is in the title and which is no longer in first position. Thank you.

@gregoireherbin We understand that you are experiencing an issue in that the title you have specified in the plugin settings is not displaying as expected in the search results for your site as expected.

Can you please provide the URL of the page that you are experiencing this issue on, so that we may review the source code of the page to see whether the plugin is outputting the title correctly?

Also, please note that whereas Google typically uses the title from the metadata for indexing, this is not always the case. Google will sometimes modify the title of the URL as it sees fit, as well as sometimes adding the brand or site name to the end of your title. This is not due to the plugin not functioning as expected, but rather is due to Google modifying the title and description it indexes as it’s algorithm has concluded that there is a better version to index.

We also have additional information on this topic available at the following links:

Please refer to these articles as the include recommendations for crafting a title which will help increase the likelihood that Google will use the title that you specified, instead of modifying your page’s title as it sees fit.

Hello, thanks for your advice, the address of my site is: gregoireherbin.fr

On the page source of your homepage https://www.gregoireherbin.fr/ we do see the SEO Title being outputted is:

    <title>Infographiste à Poitiers - Freelance - Grégoire HERBIN</title>

While, we checked the search result the title appears is slightly different.

Grégoire HERBIN: Infographiste à Poitiers – Freelance

If you’ve just recently modified this title it might take Google for a while to reflect that in search results.

You can try inspecting URL via Inspection Tool in Google Search Console that can help you speed up the crawling and indexing processes.

This will force Google to update the index. You may need to use it several times. This guide explains more:?https://kb.yoast.com/kb/fetch-as-googlebot/.

Good evening, I followed your instructions, I was on google search and it informs me that the url is present on google and that the page is well indexed with: Infographiste à Poitiers – Freelance – Grégoire HERBIN. I have not made any updates with: Grégoire HERBIN: Infographiste à Poitiers – Freelance. I have the impression that it is google that modifies the formatting of the title, it does not bother me if the term “Infographiste à Poitiers” which corresponds to my request is well taken into account.

    Hi @gregoireherbin,

We’re glad that the order of the title isn’t causing a problem for this particular page.

Since using keywords can influence the search results, you can try using site:gregoireherbin.fr instead of any other keywords to check the titles and descriptions for your site.
