metabox in front-end

Is there a way to put metabox on front-end page? E.g. via shortcode, etc.
Found some suggestions here:https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/7453/meta-boxes-in-front-end-post-submission-form
to use method do_meta_box, but without much luck.
