    Hi,

I’m getting familiarized with your plugin.

I notice that even with the remove metadata box unchecked, choosing maximum lossless or lossy removes the metadata. Is this correct?

I rely on the description, keywords and other IPTC data for site functionality and need to figure out the best optimization strategy without removing this information.

    Any tips would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

That is not the way it should be, I’ll double-check and let you know. This is for jpg files, correct?

    Yes, for jpg files.

When I just choose lossy, the metadata stays but it takes a very long time for a single image, 45-60 seconds. Should it work locally for all the choices?

only lossless is available locally, the other options all use the API. The next release will have some pretty huge speed-ups with API usage (haven’t tested local mode yet).

edit: I’ll also still test the other modes myself to make sure things are working properly before the next release

I just tested again using maximum lossy and not checking remove metadata. The metadata was retained. I wasn’t waiting long enough for it to finish before viewing the image in the Media Library.

When do you expect the new speedy release?

release is imminent, just need to test the crap out of everything for a day or so to make sure I didn’t miss anything.
