    Hi GeneratePress users,

    For a long time I’m using Generatepress. Great, flexible theme!
    Some people love a slider, so then I use plugin Metaslider.
    Yesterday I noticed something weird.
    When the screen with a slider is refreshed, the first slide stretches out over the whole screen or more, before it takes his place with the right width and height. The result is an ugly flickering.
    It only happens (or you can only see it) with Flexslider/SLIDES. Flexslider/Fade gives no problem at all. I checked in FF and Chrome, with 4 different websites I made.
    Mostly I use Fade in stead of Slides. So I don’t know since when this problem occurred.
    You can see what happens here: https://www.muslie.nl/ (press F5)

    Can it be a conflict Generatepress/Metaslider? At the Metasliderforum this problem is not mentioned at all.

    Grtzzzz.

    Hi there,

    That’s very strange – have you checked with their support to see if it’s something they’ve ran into before?

    Let me know ??

    Hi Tom,

    Thanks for reacting.
    Yes, I started looking for the same problem in the Metasliderforum.
    Exactly the same issue I haven’t found.
    The issues that came close, suggested .metaslider {overflow: hidden;} or .metaslider .flexslider {overflow: hidden;}

    But that didn’t solve a thing ??

    How would you (native-english-speaking, I presume) describe what you see?
    Maybe I’m searching with the wrong terms…

    It’s really hard to tell unfortunately. It could be that the slider is really wide for a split second, then snaps back into place.

    I’m not sure how they calculate the width of their container. Have you tried opening your own support topic with them so one of their developers can see it first hand?

    You could try something like this:

    body {
        overflow-x: hidden;
    }

    Thanks Tom.
    Started a new topic at the metasliderforum.
    Specially made a new empty WP installation (no plugins, twenty-ten theme).
    The slider is still acting in the same way.

    Hope I’ll get an answer there!

    Hi Tom,

    After some posts explaining the problem and set some settings:

    Hi @janetb,

    I submitted a fix to FlexSlider and will try to get the fix manually added to MetaSlider, hopefully within the next day or two.

    Thanks Tom. For thinking along with me!
