    Hello, I’m kind of new to wordpress and I’m working on putting together a website to show my school work. I have been using the metaslider and I love it but one day I tried making a new slider but the whole interface was gone. All I got was a blank page. I have been reading the forums on this problem but so far nothing has worked. I install a new theme thinking that might be the problem but the interface is still gone, I checked my server info as recommended in another thread and it shows my memory limit to be 256mb. Below is the info from my php

    Magic Quotes GPC: On
    Memory Limit: 256.0 MiB
    Max Upload Size: 10.0 MiB

    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank You.

  • Hi johnyj13,

    Was there anything out of the ordinary with the slideshow you added? Lots of slides, large images etc?

    If you have access to your PHP error log (usually can be found in your hosting control panel) and could paste me the last few lines after getting the blank page then that’d be a great help.

    To bring the admin page back, please try going to https://yoursiteURL.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=ml-slider and removing the latest slideshow.

    Regards,
    Tom.

    Hello Tom, thanks for your response. Yes, I was working on putting a slideshow together when the metaslider control page went blank. I think the images might have been a little too big for the slideshow or perhaps I had too many pictures for the slideshow. I had done a similar slideshow a few days prior to starting on a new one. The images for that slideshow were somewhat big and the slideshow and metaslider were working fine. You can see this slideshow in the following link. https://www.jonathanalarcon.com/infrastructural-wilderness-2/. Every slideshow I have made with metaslider works fine on my site but I can’t go back to delete any slideshows or modify them. I want to be able to access the slideshow that crashed metaslider and deleted it or modify it so it hopefully solves the problem. I think I’ll try deleting the photos that were in that slideshow from my library and see if that does anything. I triedd installing and deleting metaslider and reinstalling it but it does not solve the problem. As for the errorlog you mentioned above, like I said I’m new to wordpress and know nothing about coding or web development what so ever but I pulled this from my host’s php error log:

    [27-May-2013 05:42:35] WordPress database error Got error 28 from storage engine for query SELECT gym_posts.* FROM gym_posts INNER JOIN gym_term_relationships ON (gym_posts.ID = gym_term_relationships.object_id) LEFT JOIN gym_posts AS p2 ON (gym_posts.post_parent = p2.ID) WHERE 1=1 AND ( gym_term_relationships.term_taxonomy_id IN (13) ) AND gym_posts.post_type = ‘attachment’ AND ((gym_posts.post_status = ‘inherit’) OR (gym_posts.post_status = ‘inherit’ AND (p2.post_status = ‘inherit’))) GROUP BY gym_posts.ID ORDER BY gym_posts.menu_order ASC made by do_action(‘toplevel_page_metaslider’), call_user_func_array, MetaSliderPlugin->render_admin_page, MetaSliderPlugin->admin_process, MetaSliderPlugin->set_slider, MetaSliderPlugin->create_slider, MetaNivoSlider->__construct, MetaSlider->__construct, MetaSlider->populate_slides, WP_Query->__construct, WP_Query->query, WP_Query->get_posts

    I hope this is what you were referring to. These are from the same day just different times. I tried metaslider today but I don’t get an error for today in the error log. If this is what you were referring to and want to see more of it let me know.

    Thank You so very much for your help.

    Hi johnyj13,

    Thats very helpful, thanks!

    “Mysql error “28 from storage engine” – means “not enough disk space”.”

    Can you check your disk space? Delete some files maybe and see if Meta Slider starts working?

    If that fails you can delete the slideshow by going directly to /wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=ml-slider in your browser.

    Regards,
    Tom.

    I have a similar problem. I was setting up sliders with a post. Two completed perfectly and easily. The third downloaded the photos, but would not preview, and when I returned to the download page, the photos are gone.

    I’ve tried all the usual things, activating and deactivating Meta Slider, deactivating other plugins, different theme, deleting that slider altogether, and starting again,etc, to no avail.

    I have no idea what php settings are, but here is what I found under php.ini and below that xmlrpcphp, and then error logs and docs.

    php.ini:

    [That’s too much code to paste on these forums – please see the forum guidelines – you need to use a pastebin – https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Forum_Welcome#Posting_Code ; Further you should start a new thread rather than posting in someone else’s – https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Forum_Welcome#Where_To_Post ]

    Hi Shirley,

    Can you check your disk space? You can probably find it in your hosting control panel.

    Regards,
    Tom

    I have used 1 GB, and I have unlimited disk space, according to my top level plan.

    Hi Shirley,

    Is it at exactly 1gb? Even though the host advertises unlimited space, they may have a restriction in place anyway.

    Could you email the error logs to tom [@] matchalabs.com please?

    Thanks
    Tom

    This has been resolved via email.

    For anyone else experiencing a similar issue:

    1. Go directly to https://www.yourSiteUrl.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=ml-slider in your browser.
    2. Delete (move to trash) the latest/problem slideshow.
    3. Go back to the Meta Slider page and recreate your slideshow
    4. If you find there is a single image that is causing the problem, please email the image to me (tom [@] matchalabs.com) so that I can do some testing.

    Regards,
    Tom.

    If you’re getting a blank screen, and your server has Image Magick installed, try adding this to your themes functions.php file:

    function make_gd_default_image_editor($editors) {
    	return array('WP_Image_Editor_GD','WP_Image_Editor_Imagick');
    }
    add_filter('wp_image_editors', 'make_gd_default_image_editor');

    Hello Everyone,

    I’ve done everything that was told up here and it’s not working for me. I’m having trouble to upload the images, the wordpress is giving me a error message. But the image goes to the midia library. When I update them to the slider the blank screen appears… I need a lot of sliders with images that has 960px to 960px JPG and weighs 84kb. The URL of the website is:

    https://www.bifum.com.br/v1/

    Thanks!
    Erik

    Hi Erik,

    Please try downloading the development version of Meta Slider from this page: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/ml-slider/developers/

    It should now work around ‘corrupt’ images (images that WordPress has had trouble processing during initial upload). Previously these images would give you a blank screen.

    Meta Slider should now let you add the ‘corrupt’ slide, but say ‘Image data missing. Please reupload the image’.

    Note, this is just a workaround, Meta Slider won’t be able to crop the images properly (if WordPress can’t process them, then neither can Meta Slider) but it’s better than a blank screen ??

    Regards,
    Tom.

    Hi Tom,

    Thanks! Now it work’s.
