Metaslider hangs between images

    I have a very simple portfolio site https://lara.photography
    It’s a stripped down custom theme with a few pages of metaslider image galleries and vimeo embeds.

    The problem is that the metaslider page load time is very sporadic, sometimes the site seems to work fine and other times it hangs in between images and freezes on the white transition.

    To check if this is simply an image size issue on the page ‘Line’ I have downsampled the images to a retina ready size (2x the px dimensions of the slider, 72dpi) instead of uploading the images and letting the slider downsample them — but even this page ‘hangs’.

    I have never had this issue with metaslider before so maybe its a problem with the theme coding?

    I’ve taken a look at your site and it does seem to load fairly slowly as you’ve reported.

    I’m unable to see any errors and there doesn’t seem to be a problem with the image sizes either.

    I was however seeing the slow and inconsistent loading times on this page which doesn’t contain Meta Slider or any images, so in theory it should be very quick:

    If you’ve not noticed this before then it could well be the new theme you’ve switched to – it could be worth switching to another theme (one the core ‘Twenty …’ WordPress themes would be ideal) and check the page loading time there.

    If it’s not the theme then it could be your hosting, but you’ve not mentioned any change there.
