Metaweblog API and post tags

I need a boot in the right direction to figure out how to auto-generate new posts using the XmlRpc method metaWeblog.newpost that include post tags. I have a page setup on my blog that organizes posts of monthly and weekly reports into their respective categories. I use the post tags to organize them. I have the auto-posting capability figured out and working as long as I only need to include post categories, but I can’t find anything that tells me how to get it to create post tags with the new post. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.
