Meteor Slides & WordPress Multisite

  • Hi,

    Would it be possible to use one slideshow for all sites of a Network?

    I love this plugin: it’s lightweight and I like the fact that it’s using custom post type. But because of that, is it the most suitable plugin if I want to use to same slideshow for all my (sub)-sites?

    Hi, this would be possible to do, but you would need to write a custom loop that would query the slide posts from a different site on the network.

    Most of what is in meteor-slideshow.php could be used for this loop, but you would need something like the switch_to_blog function to make that query on a different network site. It sounds like this is a pretty resource intensive process depending on the size of the network and the number of queries, so you’d have to test it out and see if it would work for you.

    Here is a post from someone with the same problem, querying a custom post type on the first blog from other blogs on the network. They are using a standard query, but switching to a different blog first and switching back after the query.
