    Hey there,

I’m currently busy creating a website for my company, I do this through Local, which allows you to host a WordPress site on your own PC. So you can develop it in peace and later upload it to your live site.

I downloaded metform, created a form according to the guide on their official site.

However there’s a problem: the form refuses to actually show up on the site!

    I’ve made a contact page with metform added through;

    – The metform widget in elementor
    – Text field in elementor and added the shortcode to it
    – Shortcode widget in elementor and added the shortcode to it.

There are no visible error messages, however the form simply won’t show up and will leave a completely white space instead.

I’ve tried different browsers (Chrome, Edge, Opera, firefox) and the form refuses to show up on any of these browsers. no error message or whatever.

Does anyone know what could cause this, and more importantly how to fix this?

    Thank you.

    Hello @eterud,
Thanks for reaching out to us and sorry for the delayed response!

As your site is in the local environment it’s not possible to inspect it properly. But I’m sharing some troubleshooting processes that will help to find a possible reason. By following them you’ll be able to detect the issue and hopefully solve it.

In most cases, the cache is the reason for this type of issue. Please make sure to clear all the cache from your website including any plugin, browser, server, or CDN (eg. Cloudflare) also try disabling the Cache/Optimization plugin for some time if you are using one.

Using?HTML Markup?on the Form causes this type of issue. Since our Metform is developed using the?REACT?framework, it will not parse the?Invalid HTML/External HTML Markups?and as a result, the form will not display on the Frontend or give this type of error. Most often, the Markups come from external widgets like- The text Editor Widget. Please check the console of that page you have integrated the Metform. Removing those external HTML or Widgets from the form will solve the issue.

If not, try resetting the permalink by selecting one random structure and saving it, after that select the previous link and save it again. You can follow this video.

If none of the solutions worked, then there maybe a conflict on your site. Please run a conflict test to check what actually causes the issue.

To do so, first of all, switch your theme to a default theme like 2020 or Hello Elementor and check if the issue still persists. If that solves your issue, that means the issue is related to the theme you are using.

If switching to the default theme also doesn’t help, then please check if there are any conflicts between the installed plugin. To troubleshoot the issue, please deactivate other plugins except for Elementor and Metform to check if the issue still persists. If that solves your problem, activate the plugins one by one, and continue checking the issue In this way you will be able to detect which one causes the problem.

Let me know your findings after performing the conflict test.

    Best Regards,
    Moin

    Thank you for your answer.

So I found the culprits. it seems that Metform doesn’t work nicely with:

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/exclusive-addons-for-elementor/

    and

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/xpro-elementor-addons/
